Thomas Coville set the new Transmed record

After one day and a few minutes across the Mediterranean Sea, Thomas Coville onboard Sodebo set the first solo multihull record time of the so called Transmed route between Marseille (France) and Carthage (Tunisia).

"I understand now why there are so few attempts to this record: with strong mistral you're always sailing at your limit, it's very demanding" commented captain Tom a few minutes after crossing the finish line. Sodebo completed the 458 miles distance in 25 hours 36 minutes and 36 seconds, at an average speed of 17,62 knots, a little bit more than expected by the Helly Hansen ambassador, mostly due to the fact that during the night he has been obliged to slow down his pace after a collision between Sodebo's rudder and an unidentified object.

Helly Hansen congratulate Thomas for this new achievement and welcome him back aboard the mighty Sodebo.
