Sodebo, the new M34 boat helmed by Thomas Coville sporting Helly Hansen apparel and footwear, had a very positive debut in the M34 class and managed to finish the race in third place. The Spi Ouest France is the first big event of the sailing season in France and this year was joined by total of 423 boats in all categories combined.
The positive outcome for Sodebo came in the 12th and very final round of the M34 class race. Under bright sun and with a breeze of 20-25 knots East, Thomas Coville and the whole crew managed to fight their way to the podium with determination and strong will, while having to face the fierce competition of the more experienced teams in the run.
After five days of racing in Quiberon Bay and the achievement of this favourable result, the whole Sodebo team is ever more motivated to prove themselves in the M34 class. Considering the little amount of training they got and the third place which they managed to secure, the crew is looking forward to the Tour de France à la Voile 2013, that is taking place in the period June 28 to July 28, 2013. M34 is the class of boats for the completion, and the race is completely tactical, with all participants having exactly the same boats.
We would like to congratulate Thomas and the whole Sodebo crew on their fantastic performance and wish them all luck in facing their next challenge in the M34 class. We are extremely proud to support such a talented group of sailors.
